Must-Have Baby Products

You and I may have different parenting style’s and I want you to know, that is totally ok. My parenting style led me to find what I consider to be ESSENTIAL products for my baby’s first year. Even though my baby is now a 3 year old toddler (small tear of joy/sadness), I continue to use most of the products mentioned in this post. We all use different products and may find some items more essential than others but it’s always fun getting to see what other mommies are using and doing. I hope you find some helpful!

Here’s a little insight into my parenting style and journey in motherhood. I have a three year old son and another boy on the way. I like to live simply and do things as easily as possible. When I’m on the go, I prefer to not lug around much. In the beginning, I found myself taking half my house with me to the grocery store but quickly realized it wasn’t necessary. I keep essentials like diapers, wipes, change of clothes for baby and a few other items in the car at all times to reduce my bag size. I exclusively breastfed my son until he was two and a half. With that said I only used a bottle a handful of times when my breast were clogged or so. I did baby led weaning with my son. I always aimed for him to use utensils that would prepare him for adult utensils like regular cups etc which made my life so much easier!

On the Go

Hello Mockingbird Single to Double Stroller

I’ve done so much research on strollers and this one is my favorite choice. You can choose between single or double riders. If you have one child but plan on having another sooner than later, this is a great option.

It has a huge basket for storage underneath and can close with one hand! The seats are interchangeable and recline back flat. It is beautiful and has additional accessories coming soon.

This stroller is a lot like the UppaBaby Vista but better in my opinion.

britax b safe 35 infant car seat

Britax B Safe 35 Infant Car Seat

I used Britax with my first son and loved it! For the first year, I went with an infant car seat instead of a convertible because I can easily take the seat out and attach it to my stroller instead of taking my baby in and out every time I step out of the car. Especially when they’re sleeping!

Rear-view Mirror with Light and Sun Shades

Rear View Mirrors are such an important baby essential. It provides us parents with peace of mind while driving. As the baby grows older he’ll love to discover his reflection as well. This mirror has lights which are great for driving at night and those shades come in handy for sunny days.

Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier

I’ve tried many baby carriers and before I discovered the Sunveno hip seat, baby bjorn was my go to. The hip strap relieves some weight off the shoulders. It is easy to put on and take off which is essential for me and baby.

Sunveno Hip Seat Carrier

This hip seat… GAME CHANGER!! Probably my favorite baby product ever discovered. Once you try a hip seat, you wont ever want to wear a regular baby carrier. The back relief is INSANE! And as they get holder it frees up your hands. It is also great for holding your baby while breastfeeding etc. And don’t let me forget the pockets, zippers and cup holder!

Sleep

Boppy Pillow

Boppy pillows helped support my arms and baby during feeds. This pillow is also great for tummy time, propping and sitting.

Swaddles

Swaddling your newborn baby is something all mothers need for the sake of their sleep and the baby’s. You can swaddle a baby with a muslin blanket but it takes some practice. These easy to use swaddles make life easier and wont come apart with a moving baby.

DockATot

Doc a Toc’s are a great options for putting baby to nap near you on the bed or on the living room floor as you get things done around the house.

Muslin Blankets

Muslin blankets are my absolute favorite! They can be used for so much. For instance, wrapping baby, swaddling, attaching to bran and using it as breastfeeding cover, place over car seat for privacy, etc.

Health

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

I’ve tried many diaper rash creams and aquaphor remains my favorite. It makes diaper rashes disappear over night. I put it on my baby with every diaper change and allows me to wipe those poopy booties squeaky clean with no hassle all while protecting their sensitive skin from rash.

Wipe Warmer

A wipe warmer was essential for me. I could change baby in the night and not wake him with a cold wipe. It keeps your baby asleep for quick and easy night changes! Anything that will lessen the load of sleep deprivation is a must for me!

Braun Ear Thermometer

In the first year of my son’s life (especially as first time mom) I was a complete spas. Any cough, sniffle or slight change in temperature sent me in a panic. I love this thermometer because it is quick and easy to use.

NoseFrida Nose Suction & Saline Spray

Saline, Saline, saline! Always have saline around and use it frequently. Saline helps keep baby’s nasal passage clean and moisturized. A nose aspirator is a must have!

Bath & Grooming

Angelcare Baby Bath Support

I loved this bath support. Your baby doesn’t slip and slide and sits comfortably. When you’re all done,

Shea Moisture Baby
Wash & Shampoo

This baby wash leaves my baby smelling so good! I either use this or the Honest Apricot Wash

Baby Towels

I prefer bigger baby towels with hoodies because they keep baby warm and easy to wrap around. Bigger towels are great for growing babies.

Groom Kit

This groom kit has everything you need. A good suction, two type of combs and a great nail clipper. Ive bought other nail clippers thinking they would be better because they had a light etc but this nail clipper is remained my favorite and the others were never used after the first use.

Breastfeeding

Spectra Breast Pump

The spectra pump is hospital grade, and has many great features. A cup holder for bottle, a light for night use, different levels of suction and much more!

Check with you health insurance for a free pump. I didn’t have to pay for mine.

Haakaa Pump

The Haakaa pump is easy to use. Just squeeze and it suctions. I like this pump because it is light and easy to take with me on the road. WHile I breastfeed on one side, I place the Haakaa on the other breast and it catches any milk being released during a let down. No Milk lost or wasted!!

Madela Hand Pump

I was given this hand pump during my emergency visit to the hospital after my home birth (Read full story here) and I loved it. At times, it helped release many clogged milk ducts. I highly recommend especially for on-the-go.

Breast Milk
Storage Bags

Breast milk storage bags are definitely a necessity while breastfeeding. You wanna save all the liquid gold possible!

Nursing Pads

Having wet spots on your shirt is not pleasant. These pads are soft and get the job done. I prefer disposable ones because once they get full, I chuck them in the trash. Spoiled milk is not my favorite scent to wear.

Feeding

high chair

Graco Blossom 6 in 1
Convertible High Chair

I prefer to invest in things that my baby can use for the long run. This high chair has four stages from infant use to toddler to youth. You can have two babies using at once! One in the high chair and one in the booster seat!

catch food bib

Silicone Bibs

I promise you’ll want bibs that catch all the falling food and most importantly EASY to CLEAN!

Baby Food/Fruit Feeder

I loved using this when I first started introducing solids to my son. I was able to give him foods he isn’t able to eat by himself yet grapes etc. Pro tip: Put frozen fruit inside for a teething baby!

Munchkin Weighted Straw Cup

This cup is awesome! Perfect for teaching your young one to drink from a straw and the weighted straw allows them to drink from any angle.

Everyday Use

Fisher Price Deluxe Gym

I love this gym set not only because it is gorgeous but because it has so many great features. It includes a pillow for tummy time assistance, hanging toys, hanging mirror, teething toy and best of all a light up musical toy. This deluxe gym engages all of your baby’s senses!

Baby seat

Skip Hop Baby Seat

Once baby can support his own head up, baby seats very much come in handy. Sit them near by while working, cooking or in the bathroom. I love this one because it supports their back and posture unlike other floor seats. And best of all, it has entertainment and a food tray for snacks!

Reversible Foam Play Mat

Once you get a full foam play mat, you’ll never want to get those soft tiles. This floor mat is gorgeous, super soft and prevents many booboo’s. Best part about is, that the mat is one full piece. Your baby won’t make a mess or chew on it like they would with tiles.

Graco Pack n Play

What is there not to love about this pack n play?! It has so many great features and you’ll use it for a long time! It comes with a changing table, raised bassinet, toddler cot, play pen, storage and baby seat with canopy and two vibration settings. These are my kind of products! Get the most bang for your buck!
