You and I may have different parenting style’s and I want you to know, that is totally ok. My parenting style led me to find what I consider to be ESSENTIAL products for my baby’s first year. Even though my baby is now a 3 year old toddler (small tear of joy/sadness), I continue to use most of the products mentioned in this post. We all use different products and may find some items more essential than others but it’s always fun getting to see what other mommies are using and doing. I hope you find some helpful!
Here’s a little insight into my parenting style and journey in motherhood. I have a three year old son and another boy on the way. I like to live simply and do things as easily as possible. When I’m on the go, I prefer to not lug around much. In the beginning, I found myself taking half my house with me to the grocery store but quickly realized it wasn’t necessary. I keep essentials like diapers, wipes, change of clothes for baby and a few other items in the car at all times to reduce my bag size. I exclusively breastfed my son until he was two and a half. With that said I only used a bottle a handful of times when my breast were clogged or so. I did baby led weaning with my son. I always aimed for him to use utensils that would prepare him for adult utensils like regular cups etc which made my life so much easier!
I used Britax with my first son and loved it! For the first year, I went with an infant car seat instead of a convertible because I can easily take the seat out and attach it to my stroller instead of taking my baby in and out every time I step out of the car. Especially when they’re sleeping!
Rear View Mirrors are such an important baby essential. It provides us parents with peace of mind while driving. As the baby grows older he’ll love to discover his reflection as well. This mirror has lights which are great for driving at night and those shades come in handy for sunny days.
This hip seat… GAME CHANGER!! Probably my favorite baby product ever discovered. Once you try a hip seat, you wont ever want to wear a regular baby carrier. The back relief is INSANE! And as they get holder it frees up your hands. It is also great for holding your baby while breastfeeding etc. And don’t let me forget the pockets, zippers and cup holder!
I’ve tried many diaper rash creams and aquaphor remains my favorite. It makes diaper rashes disappear over night. I put it on my baby with every diaper change and allows me to wipe those poopy booties squeaky clean with no hassle all while protecting their sensitive skin from rash.
This baby wash leaves my baby smelling so good! I either use this or the Honest Apricot Wash.
The Haakaa pump is easy to use. Just squeeze and it suctions. I like this pump because it is light and easy to take with me on the road. WHile I breastfeed on one side, I place the Haakaa on the other breast and it catches any milk being released during a let down. No Milk lost or wasted!!
I was given this hand pump during my emergency visit to the hospital after my home birth (Read full story here) and I loved it. At times, it helped release many clogged milk ducts. I highly recommend especially for on-the-go.
I prefer to invest in things that my baby can use for the long run. This high chair has four stages from infant use to toddler to youth. You can have two babies using at once! One in the high chair and one in the booster seat!
I promise you’ll want bibs that catch all the falling food and most importantly EASY to CLEAN!

Once baby can support his own head up, baby seats very much come in handy. Sit them near by while working, cooking or in the bathroom. I love this one because it supports their back and posture unlike other floor seats. And best of all, it has entertainment and a food tray for snacks!
