Banana Bread brownies

Banana Bread Brownies Recipe

I recently had some over ripe bananas and began craving banana bread so I thought to myself, “what a perfect time to make some”! But then I remembered I had been craving brownies for weeks. I was torn between choosing which one to make; I blame my pregnancy cravings haha. So, I decided to combine them both. How delicious would that be?! Bananas and chocolate is a heavenly combination already, there is no way it would be anything less than amazing. And folks… It was BEYOND DELICIOUS!

You will need the following ingredients…

Start by making my Banana Bread Mix and Set Aside.

make Brownie Mix and Set Aside.

I used boxed brownie mix because it was fast and what I had at hand. You could make your own brownie mix from scratch but I opted out of doing that to make preparation time less since I am pregnant. I prefer the Betty Crocker brand.

Now that you have both mixtures prepared. Set your oven at 350 degrees fahrenheit. Prepare your baking pan by cutting out some wax paper and placing it at the base. Spray the sides with baking spray.

You will use equal amounts of banana bread and brownie mixture. Pour the brownie mix in the pan and then gently pour the banana bread mix on top. Sprinkle your favorite chocolate chips (I prefer Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips) all throughout the top. The chocolate chips will sink to the middle of both layers and create the perfect touch. This makes all the difference!

Pop it in the oven!

Bake for about 45 minutes or until poke test comes out smooth. Poke test is what I like to call, poke a stick inside and see if it comes out clean or wet with raw mixture.

Now Eat!

Once your banana bread brownies are ready, take it out of the oven and let cool. You should be able to easily pop it out of the pan. Remove wax paper. Enjoy with your choice of milk! Delicious!

Pro-tip: Save the left overs in the fridge. They taste great hot or cold but if you prefer them warm then pop the banana bread brownies in the microwave for about 5 to 10 seconds depending how high your settings are.

Heavenly!
