Ever wondered how to make Thee Best Acai Bowl Ever? Look no further because this acai bowl recipe is a classic winner!
I was first introduced to Acai bowls while living in Hawaii. My husband and I became obsessed and thankfully I learned how to make them while I was over there. Once we moved back to Miami, FL, I was so sad that I couldn’t find ANY restaurants/stores that made acai bowls as good as the ones in Hawaii. So I just resorted to always making them at home. I’ve had many people who have tried my acai bowls and say that they are by far the best they’ve tried. It makes me happy to know I’ll always carry a piece of Hawaii with me.
And if you’re ever on Oahu, HI on the North Shore, stop by Halewia Bowls for a taste of acai heaven!
Once my son was born, I introduced it to him at an early age and he’s been hooked ever since! He gets so excited and calls it “ice cream with coco honey”. Acai bowls are great for kids (and adults!) because they’re packed with antioxidants, vitamins, fatty acids, omegas, amino acids, and high levels of fiber.
Acai Bowls are the perfect go-to for the entire family!
I like to use either the frozen acai puree pack (sweetened or unsweetened) or the liquid acai juice. I prefer the original blend but unsweetened is fine if you prefer less sugar. I wouldn’t recommend using the frozen acai puree packs that have additional ingredients such as tropical fruit or the protein packs for this recipe. It adds a completely different flavor.
I recommend using all frozen fruit. You can freeze your bananas in advance and purchase already frozen strawberries and blueberries. I also recommend buying the berries separately and not mixed berries. I will add two different recipes depending on what type of acai you are using (liquid or frozen). I buy both my frozen and liquid acai at Costco but they can be found in other stores depending on your location.
